Emotions in business?
Emotions in business? For sure! Today my temperature increased to a level so far unknown when I answered my phone today. This begins with a business, where the business model is the following:
- We hire a call center, that can call companies – so far ok, you need to sell of course, so it’s ok that you call companies, that are registered J
- The call center man or woman, then talks about what a great deal he or she can offer you – so far also great, we are all interested in saving money!!! Also business. If they can save me money, I would definitely like to hear about it.
- This is where my temper sets in! It is such a good deal, that the caller can offer you, that he or she cannot write you an email with the details. What? You have to agree to the deal over the phone! Mmmmmmmm. My temperature increases and I must admit I felt like grapping the guy behind the phone and say look “can you really hear yourself what you are saying?”. Then he says in the middle of my very busy schedule “You can go to the website now and check it out”! What? If you have a website, you have marketing material, why can’t you send me a freaking email with the stuff, so that I can evaluate my options before I agree to any deal.
So please… This outburst of mine is not meant for the call center or caller for that matter as they are often fine, this outburst targets the smart-ass guys and girls who think this is a great way to earn money of a product or service!!! It’s not!!! Instead I just end up hating your products and services and would like to spam the Internet with your company name and personal name warning all others to just hang up if they hear offers being made in your name. If you have a great product, show it, tell me about it, and be ready to send me a freaking email with all the facts about the product and why it can save me money. Don’t make business using pressure as the business model!!!
Well back to business – now my blood is boiling to make an even better service to my customers in a business where we got nothing to hide!
